Book Cover

The book cover I recreated was for The Great Gatsby. The reason I chose this book is because I enjoy reading this story and also there is a great story line. The other reason I chose this book is because there are many symbols used in the story that I could involve in the cover. For example, I used the NYC skyline, the main characters unique car, and the eyes of the doctor who owns much of the land surrounding the city. The reason I chose to  use the car is because there are pivotal moments in the book that involve the car. And the reason I chose to use the eyes on the billboard is because the significance of the eyes is that they see everything that happens and that nothing is hidden from God's eye. I chose the Warm gold color and the dark blue background because it gives the viewer the feel of warmth and also the idea that there is darkness involved. In order to keep the design going throughout the entire cover, I had the beams of light from the headlights travel all the way across the cover.
