When I started with only a picture of a pelican I didn't know what to do. As I examined the picture I realized if I used only a portion of the image, the CD cover would be better. I took a square screenshot of the wings and water. I put the image into photoshop and increased the saturation and the brightness. At the same time I gave the image more curve and isolated the magenta and blue colors. Once I was finished editing the photo, I transferred it to illustrator and put the text in. For the name, "Joe Isbelle", I used a black fill with a dark blue Stroke. For the quote below I used a pink stroke and a light blue fill.
